World War I: WWI lasted from 1914 to 1918 with the defeat of Germany, Austria and their allies. It was all triggered by the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
Treaty Of Versailles: This was a treaty created after the end of WWI. This treaty pointed to Germany as the cause of the war. They were no longer allowed to have a military and had to pay for the destruction.
Woodrow Wilson/ Fourteen Points: Wilson's plan to have people focus on moral principles rather than machinations wasn't a success.
Great Depression: An economic depression in which countries world wide suffered from unemployment and food shortages. People lost all their money after the stock market crashed.
New Deal: this was a program created by President Franklin Roosevelt to try and stabilize the economic issues that the U.S. was currently under by creating new jobs and new acts that potentially helped the poor class.
Fascism: A type of government in which there is one absolute ruler who takes the reign of everything. This was adopted by many countries after WWI, including Germany and Italy.
Mussolini: He was the Italian dictator who created an alliance with Germany and was then brought in to WWII for this cause.
Nazi Germany/ Hitler: Hitler was the dictator of Germany after WWI. He formed part of the Nazi Party which had the goal to terrorize in order to seize power. Germany at the time, tried to find the "final solution" by genocide.
Revolutionary Right (Japan): These were small groups of men who were against democracy and had a goal of expansion.
World War II in Asia: Japan began taking control of European colonies in the attempt to expand, and also attacked the United states in the attack of Pear Harbor which launched the U.S. into war.
World War II In Europe: After the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was devastated and so they saw an opportunity to rise under the command of Hitler. Great Britain and France declared war against Germany after the attack of Poland.
Total War: This was when the people of a country joined all their efforts to the war by contributing to the creation of weapons. People also rationed their food to contribute.
Holocaust: The Holocaust was an act created by Adolf Hitler. He wanted to "solve German's problems." The Holocaust was a time in which there was genocide of European Jews and many other ethnic groups such as gypsies.
Marshall Plan: This was a program derived from the United States in an attempt to economically aid Europe after WWII.
European Economic Community: The U.S launched a program in which they gave many European nations economic aid to help them restore their stability.
NATO: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was established among the Western countries. It had the U.S. as a nuclear arsenal. This alliance helped many nations restore from the downfall of WWI.
